Planning applications

Planning Applications are determined by Monmouthshire Council Planning Committee or officers with delegated powers.

The Community Council is a statutory consultee and is required to comment on every application. In Wales, planning applications must demonstrate how they will provide a net benefit for biodiversity and ecosystem resilience. This means that development should leave biodiversity and ecosystems in a significantly better state than before, primarily on or adjacent to the site.
