The council supports the work of the charity 'Electrical Safety First' which is promoting a campaign to ensure greater safety in the use and disposal of lithium batteries and are aiming to get it into law as soon as possible. Residents should be aware that lithium battery fires are on the increase – there have been over 1000 in the past few years, nearly 200 injuries and a dozen fatalities. Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice R38 Whitehouse Farm To Glen Farm, Maypole, Monmouthshire It is anticipated that the works will be completed between 9th July 2024 and 10th July 2024, operating between 08:00 – 17:00. The order is necessary for MJ Quinn Poling works to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure. The effect of the order will be to temporarily close a section of R38 Whitehouse Farm to Glen Farm, Maypole, Monmouthshire, from its junction with St Maughans Road for ~305m. A signed diversionary route will be in place as follows:- R38 Ruthlin Mill to Skenfrith, B4521, B4347 and vice versa. Full details of the order and the diversion map can be found on the linked page.
