Cross Ash PTFA ‘Three Castles Walk’ Sunday 10th May 2026

Cross Ash Parents, Teachers and Friends (PTFA) are hosting the “Three Castles Walk” on Sunday 10th May to raise funds for enriching the curriculum and improving indoor learning facilities, with routes suitable for all ages and abilities. Participants are encouraged to sign up by 17th April, take part with family or friends, and raise sponsorship money to help beat last year’s total of over £2,000. Improving Footpaths in Llantilio Crossenny and Penrhos

A community footpath improvement day will take place on Thursday 4 June at 10:00am, starting from Llantilio Crossenny Church Car Park (please note this new date). Led by Ross Emery from Monmouthshire County Council, volunteers will help survey and carry out light maintenance on local paths in Llantilio Crossenny and Penrhos. Participants should bring their own PPE, food, and drink. The event aims to improve countryside access and encourage the formation of a new Whitecastle Footpath Maintenance Group. Road Closure in Whitecastle ward

Monmouthshire County Council has issued a Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice for Brynderi Road in Brynderi. The works are expected to take place between 11 May and 15 May 2026, operating daily from 09:00 to 15:30. The purpose of the order is to allow BT cabling works to be carried out safely, with reasonable access maintained for residents along the affected section of road. As a result, Brynderi Road will be temporarily closed from its junction with Tre-Llwyfan Lane for approximately 1.15 km. A signed diversion route will be in place. More details on the linked page. A recent visitor to the church wrote this in the visitors' book. "16/02/26 We enjoy visiting churches on our walks. We purposely visited the C.S. Rolls Memorial. A beautiful church set in lovely surroundings. We had a picnic on the bench outside, taking in the scenery and remembering the lives in the graveyard. A must-visit."
